Novell Galaxy Gala
November 2000
Associated Entertainment’s Kier LaCrosse was the point person for this year’s Holiday event at the San Francisco Gift Center. Kier’s fertile imagination ran wild with the Galaxy Gala theme.
Sky Tracker searchlights illuminated the sky as the X File crew searched the night sky for alien intruders.
The Real Robot - 3PO - greeted guests before they entered the “spacewalk”. Inter-planet Janet and the 8’ tall Regal Alien were waiting on the far side of the smoke filled Laser Tunnel. The Cosmo Bar was serving up Sapphire Martinis but the Mars Red Cosmos were the drink of choice.
Black Lurex covered chairs and matte silver tables filled the balconies. Stretch fabrics covered the walls and were used as projection screens for the pencil thin red and green Laser beams.
Suspended trusses filled with intelligent lighting cast an otherworldly glow through the room and cracked-glass GOBOs scarred the pulsating colors emitted from the Golden Scans.
The Bay Areas best interactive band played music from Abba to Zappa. That band was none other than David "Martians" House Party. They rocked - and their futuristic costuming and special effects make-up only heightened their appeal.
Live Star Tracks is always the DJ of choice. When it comes to keeping the energy high and not loosing one single dancer when the band breaks, Star Tracks is the only way to go.
We want to take our antennas off to the caterer - McCall and Associates. Their food, service and attention to detail was “out of this world”. Ask us and we will e-mail a menu.
If you beamed up to the second balcony, you’d find an Inter-Galactic Casino Black Jack, Pai Gow, Slots, Big Wheel, Roulette and Craps - we had it all.
How about a souvenir photo? Do you want it taken with or without the Alien?
Throughout the starlit night our inter-galactic characters roamed the cosmos. Robots #3PO and Xylon, The Pink Alien-a-glow-glo Girls, Inter-Planet Janet, The Millennium Bugs and The Regal Alien graced the Moonscape. And, at the apex of the night, over 2000 balloons were released and cascaded down in a 60’ free fall - and the guests went wild. This was the party that will be remembered into the next millennium
